Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How do I learn if auto glass damage might be corrected?
This is dependent on the variety of crack or chip. The very best alternative is to call us and we will check out the chip. We'll let you know if it is a fix that could be made or if you are being confronted by a windshield replacement. In either case, we'll collaborate with you and your insurance provider.
Q: Is there any major difference between OEM and OEE auto glass? Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) auto glass is made by the same manufacturer as your original glass. Original Equipment Equivalent (OEE) glass is made to the same standards, but by a different manufacturer. Our customers can choose OEM or OEE.
Q: How long will my auto glass repair work or replacement take?
In some cases, windshield repairs can be performed in a half an hour or less. Windshield installations will often take an hour or less; however, we strongly recommend that you do not drive the motor vehicle for about one hour after the service is finished.
Q: How long will it be before I can safely drive my motor vehicle?
You can usually drive one hour after a windshield installation, or immediately after a repair or side window replacement. Our experts use the absolute best materials, including the industry's first adhesive with a one-hour drive-away time for windshield installations. The technician will instruct you if any more time is needed.
Q: Does my vehicle have to be indoors?
Severe weather makes auto glass installs hard without cover. In these conditions, please have your vehicle in a protected area.
Q: Can you make certain that the chip or crack will be invisible after the repair has been completed?
No. A windshield chip or crack repair is used to avoid further damage to your windshield auto glass and to bring back the structural soundness of the vehicle. While each occurrence of damage is one-of-a-kind, with most successful repairs, a slight spot or imperfection where the impact took place is normal. In most cases, you should expect the cosmetic appearance of the repair to show some improvement as compared to the damage prior to the mend.
Q: Can you ensure that a chip or crack that can be repaired will not become larger during the repair process?
No. In some cases, through no error of the repair service technician, the attempt to fix an auto glass can result in the chip or crack getting larger. Having said that, we can certify that upon completion of a successful repair, the chip or crack will not crack more and also the repair will pass any state vehicle inspection, or we will credit the cost of the repair toward a replacement windshield. In the very rare occasion that this takes place, we will credit the cost of the repair service either towards a new windshield or, in case of insurance work, back to the insurance provider. Q: Will you vacuum my vehicle after service?
Yes, our technicians will vacuum any pieces of broken auto glass in your vehicle.
Q: Will any part of my vehicle be harmed during the repair or replacement process?
No, your vehicle should not be damaged during the repair or replacement. We use precautionary measures, such as protective drapes, to ensure that no damage occurs during your auto glass service.
Q: Are there any out of pocket expenses to get my auto glass corrected?
The answer depends upon your insurance coverage. For glass repair services, most auto insurance companies waive the insurance deductible so you will not have to pay any out of pocket. In truth, many insurance providers do not even count glass repairs as a claim. For glass replacement, you may not have to pay anything if your auto insurance includes full glass coverage. However, if your policy includes a deductible for glass replacement, then you will be accountable for the deductible amount and your auto insurance provider will be responsible for any money over the deductible amount.
Q: Can I get my windshield fixed if my auto insurance policy does not have glass coverage?
Yes. If your auto insurance coverage does not contain auto glass coverage, then you can simply pay us directly for your auto glass repair service or installation. Our supports are competitively priced and we accept cash, checks, and credit cards making payment as easy and hassle-free as possible.
Q: What's the difference between glass in a windshield and other window glass?
Auto glass is designed and manufactured for optimum safety in case of an accident. Your windshield is made of laminated safety glass. The side and rear windows are comprised of tempered glass. Laminated safety glass is two pieces of glass with a layer of vinyl sandwiched between, so it will stay intact in an accident. Tempered glass has been treated to make it much stronger than other glass of the same thickness. If it breaks, it is designed to shatter into tiny bits.
