ADAS Windshield Calibration

Modern vehicles are equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) that rely on cameras and sensors—many of which are mounted to the windshield—to help keep drivers and passengers safe. These systems include features like automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane assist, lane departure warning, pedestrian detection, collision avoidance, and more.

When a windshield is replaced, the ADAS camera alignment can be affected, making recalibration essential to ensure these safety features function as designed.

At Liberty AutoGlass, our technicians are professionally trained in ADAS recalibration and use industry-leading tools such as Opti-Aim and Autel to perform accurate, manufacturer-approved calibrations.

Types of ADAS Calibration

There are three types of ADAS calibration:

  • Static Calibration: Done in-shop using specialized targets and laser-guided equipment in a controlled environment
  • Dynamic Calibration: Involves driving the vehicle under specific road and speed conditions to allow the system to recalibrate in motion.
  • Dual Calibration: A combination of both static and dynamic methods, required by many newer vehicles for full system accuracy
