Windshield Reapir & Replacement FAQs

How do I know if I need a repair or a replacement?

There are 3 criteria we assess in order to repair a windshield:

  • Size – Is the chip larger than a quarter if it is a “star” chip; or is it longer than a dollar bill if it is a line crack? If yes, replacement is required.
  • Does the crack go off of the edge of the glass? If yes, replacement is required.
  • Is the damage located in the vital area directly in front of the driver’s line of vision? If yes, we can still repair the chip for you, but we need to make you aware that your vehicle might not pass inspection if it is felt that the damage obstructs the driver’s vision.
