Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Exactly how do I figure out if auto glass damage may be repaired?
This depends on the variety of crack or chip. The absolute best choice is to phone us and we will assess the chip. We'll let you know if it is a repair that could be made or if you are dealing with a windshield replacement. In either occasion, we'll team up with you and your insurance provider.

Q: Does my vehicle have to be in an enclosed or heated location?
Severe weather makes auto glass installs challenging without cover. In these conditions, please have your vehicle in a protected area.

Q: My rearview mirror is attached to my windshield. Will the technician attach it to the new windshield?
Yes, our auto glass technicians will remove your rearview mirror and attach it to your new windshield.

Q: How soon can you see me?
In many instances, we can get you set up for the same or next day service. Simply request an appointment or give us a ring. We'll get you serviced as quickly as possible.

Q: How will the windshield look after repair?
Your rock chip should become noticeably clearer when repaired. Having said that, clarity depends on the size, age, the amount of glass missing from the center, and the quantity of fragmented glass inside of the break. Whenever looking through the glass, optics should not suffer.

Q: Will you be able to replace the stickers that are already on my windshield?
Whenever possible, our trained mechanics will take exceptional care to remove any sticker labels or items that are affixed to your old windshield and will switch them over to your new windshield to ensure that you will not lose the information.

Q: Does a chipped windshield need to be repaired or replaced?
Repair versus replacement is dependent on the size, location, and degree of the damages. In many cases, damage may be repaired if the chip is a quarter-size or less, impacts only the outer layer of glass, and does not show up directly in the driver's view. But, every case is unique. Regardless, a damaged windshield should be checked out as soon as possible.

Q: Are there any out of pocket expenditures to have my windshield repaired?
The answer depends on your insurance plan coverage. For glass repair services, most auto insurance companies waive the deductible so you will not need to pay any out of pocket. In reality, many insurance providers do not even count glass repairs as a claim. For glass installation, you may not need to pay anything out of pocket if your auto insurance coverage includes full glass coverage. Having said that, if your policy includes a deductible for glass replacement, then you will be responsible for the deductible amount and your auto insurance provider will pay any money over the deductible.

Q: Can I get my windshield repaired if my auto insurance policy does not have glass coverage?
Yes. If your auto insurance policy does not contain auto glass coverage, then you can simply pay us directly for your glass repair or replacement. Our supports are competitively priced and we accept cash, checks, and credit cards to make payment as easy and hassle-free as possible.

Q: What kind of parts do you use for your glass services?
We use the finest quality glass, moulding, urethanes, and other replacement materials to maintain and strengthen the safety qualities of your windshield.

Q: Does my windshield act as a safeguard?
If your windshield is installed properly it sure does! Auto manufacturers say your windshield gives up to 50 percent of the roof crush protection in a roll-over accident. It also provides the backstop support for your passenger-side airbag in a front end collision. Your windshield is also designed as being one of the main safety restraint systems in your automobile. If your windshield were to pop out in a collision or rollover and you did not have your seat belt on or it were to fail you may be ejected from your vehicle.

Q: It's only a small crack. Can I wait to have it repaired?
No. You really shouldn't prolong. The windshield is an important skeletal element of your vehicle. If weakened due to untended damage, it will not offer optimal protection in an accident. Many small chips or surface cracks only impair the outer layer of the windshield, so it can be mended before it gets any worse and calls for more resources to fix.

Q: What's the difference between glass in a windshield and other window glass?
Auto glass is designed and produced for optimum safety in the event of a crash. Your windshield is made of laminated safety glass. The side and rear windows are made of tempered glass. Laminated safety glass is two pieces of glass with a layer of vinyl sandwiched between, so it will stay in one piece in a crash. Tempered glass has been treated to make it much stronger than other glass of the same thickness. If it breaks, it is designed to shatter into tiny pieces.

Drums general information:

Drums is a village located at about 1,500 ft in altitude in Luzerne County. You can find Drums in the Sugarloaf Valley on Interstate 81. The village was named after the Drum family who resided there during the 18th century. This family significantly helped develop the village by establishing the school, post office, hotels, churches, roads, and businesses. Interestingly enough, the first school was established by the Drum family in 1809. It was made of logs on the grounds of the old Union Church. All of the township's children attended this school. However, in 1870 this school relocated across the road from where the present location of the Drums School is. In 1941, the original log structure that was opened in 1809 as the school was removed and there was a larger structure, made of bricks, put in its place. This is the current location for the Drums school which is at 5 S. Old Turnpike Road and is officially called Drums Elementary School and Drums Middle School.
